Save on your bill

  • Switch off lights and electrical equipment when you are not using them.
  • Make a habit of switching off the lights when you leave a room.
  • Use Class A electrical appliances.
  • When you switch off equipment using the remote control the pilot light that stays on can use up to 15% of the energy.
  • Try and set off the dish washing machine when it is completely full. If it only has a half-load use the quick or economical programmes.
  • Iron a large amount of clothes at the same time.
  • Use a super rapid pressure cooker whenever you can. It releases hardly any steam while cooking, uses less energy, and saves a lot of time.
  • Watch your water consumption. Don’t leave taps running unnecessarily (for example: when washing, shaving, or brushing your teeth).
  • Let hot food cool down before putting it in the fridge.
  • Switch off the oven just before the food is cooked. The residual heat will be enough to ensure the food is properly cooked.
  • 20ºC will keep you and your family comfortable at home. The recommended temperature in bedrooms is 3 to 5ºC less
  • Remember that a shower uses about 4 times less water and energy than a bath.
